Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
All staff at Hareside Primary School are dedicated to providing an inclusive, nurturing environment and a broad and balanced curriculum through which all children can make progress and achieve their full potential. For some children with special educational needs and disabilities we need to intervene and make adaptations to the environment and curriculum to ensure they can make progress.

Working in partnership with families
We know that children learn in diverse ways and have distinct developmental timelines. At Hareside we are fully committed to the early identification of SEND, tracking development right from our Nursery provision through to Upper Key Stage 2.
We adopt a rigorous graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) that acknowledges a continuum of special educational needs. Where necessary, we work proactively with the Local Authority and health services to call upon increasing specialist expertise to advise, support, and eliminate any learning or physical barriers a child may encounter.
